CommuLand uses a credit-based system for AI-powered features. Learn how credits work, how they're consumed, and how to manage your billing.

How Credits Work

Credits are consumed when you use AI-powered features. Your total credit balance is shown in the dashboard header.

When Credits Run Out

When your organization runs out of credits:

  • AI extraction jobs will fail with an "Insufficient credits" message.
  • The Telegram bot will respond with a credit error when attempting OCR.
  • Contacts created via batch upload will be saved but AI extraction will be paused.
  • Once you top up credits, you can retry failed extractions using the Retry button on the contact detail page.

Topping Up Credits

  1. Go to Settings → Billing in your CRM dashboard.
  2. Choose a credit package or subscription plan.
  3. Complete payment via Stripe.
  4. Credits are added to your balance immediately.

Usage Tracking

The Usage section in Settings shows a breakdown of credit consumption by operation type. Each credit transaction is logged with the source, amount, and associated contact/job for full audit traceability.

Retrying Failed Extractions

If an AI extraction fails (due to insufficient credits, rate limits, or transient errors):

  1. The contact will show an "AI Failed" badge with an error message.
  2. Click the Retry button on the contact detail page.
  3. The extraction job is re-queued with a fresh attempt counter.
  4. CommuLand will automatically attempt up to 3 retries before requiring manual intervention.
